Java - Years of experience:51/4
|
Java is my favorite programming language. I use it mostly for web applications development, however I used Java also to help me with other tasks for example: XML documents parsing, XSL transformations testing and creating applets. Most of the time Java in my projects is used either to develop the whole web application or just carry out certain tasks such as getting UPS rates for a package, processing credit card authorizations, FTPing files, etc.

Summary:Phase 2 Development provided International Environmental with web based portal to facilitate the delivery of highly personalized information at the group level. The objective of this project was accomplished by the development of the portal and the integration with backend systems. This portal provides International Environmental an administrative interface to manage workflow and permissions as well as upload and maintain content. The combination of this functionality and personalization gives International Environmental a robust interactive web presence. My role in this project started after it was abandoned by the original developers and reassigned to me. I worked on all the sections of the application (public, admin, portal) to accomplish:- Database export & import scripts

Summary:Taylor Valve is an inovative company that manufactures valves for fluid and gas transmission. The choke sizing application is a sofisticated set of calculators that can calculate valve sizes based on fluids transported (either a single fluid or multiple fluids mixed). All calculations and results are stored in a standalone SQL based system to provide easy future transformation from a standalone system to internet based system. Each calculator group also has a separate dynamicaly generated print screen. I was the sole developer, my achievements in this project included:- Database Design and Implementation
- Created database mapping classes
- Created all screens with menus and calculations

Summary:This project is to take Sundowner Superstores through a fresh creative exercise to give this new venture a new and fresh look, but stay tied to the imagery and tradition of the Sundowner brand. This new Venture called SundownerPartsOnline.Com will also require a fully functioning backend system to allow for online eCommerce, displaying of the complete catalog of products, and administrative capabilities so the content can be managed, efficiently. This project will allow Sundowner Superstores to reach a larger market more directly than they are currently able to. After few design sessions with the client and graphic designers I was able to:- Design the database schema and implement it
- Create database to object mapping classes
- Implement struts as a MVC framework
- Develop a shopping cart and checkout pages
- Setup SSL on JBoss and Apache
- Integrat online payment authorization and transaction

Summary:The public web site of Stillwater national Bank uses images extensively. Although images on the web site do not change very often, the client browser had to reload the images after the validation for same image failed. Therefore I was asked to create a so called image pool, which would hold a pool of images in the server memory for fast retrieval, serve images from this memory or from the file system, respond to client browsers validation requests as well as setting cache setting for images on client browsers. This enhancements were successfuly accomplished and provided the needed boost in performance.

Summary:With the deployment of e-Forms (paperless approval system) based on a Lotus Notes 4.6 (and later on Lotus Notes R5) system within Hertz Corporation, certain forms require financial approval in addition to the normal approvals required on a given form. This project allows for complete integration of financial approval capabilities with e-Forms. Till end of my involvement with this project, there were over 200 forms with complete Approval routing available in the database starting with a basic vacation days approval to financial approval of equipment purchase. My main accomplishments in this project were - Developed and deployed approval logic used by all forms that require approval
- Shorted the response time and ease of use for Lotus Notes Clients.
