Sybase SQL Anywhere 5.0 is a DBMS developed by Sybase Inc. It was heavily used in my project at Sideria-Istota ZZP, where it served as a database backend and data replication engine. In this project all access to the system was based on authorization through database, therefore I extended my skills to an Sybase SQL Anywhere database administrator while also working on the database schema and data integration. Hopefully I will have the pleasure to work with one of the excelent database systems from Sybase Inc.

Summary:The core database system of the company is based on a multi relational database from Intersystems Corp. that runs in DOS environment. The aim of the project was the development of a user-friendly application on Microsoft Windows 95 for company managers who would be able to gather useful information to analyze the global financial situation of the company, have the ability to perform various statistical analyses. Utilizing Powerbuilder with Sybase SQL Anywhere database backend a Windows executable with numerous libraries was developed and deployed throughout the company and it's branches. All data was replicated though the branches also to significantly reduce the response time for local clients.
