PHP is one of my favorite web development languages. It's very easy to learn, very stable and powerfull. There is an excelent help system available as well as many Open Source projects that can get the development started or even deliver a whole site functionality.

Summary:Pioneer Telephone Cooperative, Inc., was formed as a cooperative telephone company in 1953, with four exchanges, four part time employees, and an investment of $50,000, at a time when rural residents had no telephone service. Today, Pioneer Telephone employs over 600 people, our service area covers 76 exchanges, 10,900 square miles, and serves over 50,000 subscribers in 30 Oklahoma counties. Pioneer Telephone has grown into a multimillion dollar corporation, qualifying it as one of the largest telephone cooperatives in the United States.PTCI has identified the need to take their web presence to the next level to better meet the perceived needs othe their customers, maintain market copetetitiveness and gain operational efficiencies that the automation of specific processes can offer. As the only developer I was responsible and achived:- Database Design and Implementation
- Database mapping
- Backend processing and page code
- Created code to retrieve News,Stocks and Weather from internet RSS sources
- Created CMS for all sections of the website

Summary:U.S.A. Digital Communications Inc. is looking to design and deploy a corporate website that will give a corporate preview to the general public and simultaneously serve as a tool to assist in the recruitment of new agents. The growing organization recognizes that by leveraging the Internet they can deliver timely and pertinent content to the end user, as well as recruit sales agents.
In this small project I used PHP as a server side scripting to :- Create a little script to email agent sign up information and requests for rates
- Provide little templating system to put consistent content on multiple pages through include files
